Dave
Erickson, Ph.D.
Dr. Erickson has been working with people with psychosis for more than twenty years. Since graduating from the UBC Clinical Psychology program, his emphasis has been on integrating psychosocial treatments into routine clinical practice, in particular for patients with early psychosis. For example, while at the Royal Ottawa Hospital he helped to establish the Optimal Treatment Program (Falloon, Morosini, Erickson et al., 1998) for early psychosis. Since returning
to Vancouver, he has developed an interest in a new psychotherapy for
psychosis called cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), for patients with medication-resistant
symptoms. He has published in the areas of early psychosis, social support,
and the treatment of anxiety disorders. In 2004, he joined the Fraser
North Early Psychosis Program in Port Moody. His duties there include
CBT for early psychosis, psychological assessment, and program development.
