Time & Place of Event:

  • Thursday April 6, 2006
  • University Golf Club, 5185 University Boulevard, Westpoint Room
  • Social hour: 6:00-7:00 pm

Description of Panel Presentation / Discussion: Panelists will receive, in advance, written descriptions of vignettes dealing with group therapy and psychiatric practice. Copies of these vignettes will be distributed during the dinner. The moderator will invite panelists to comment on how the situations could be conceptualized and managed. The audience will be involved early and throughout, as the moderator will ask for questions and comments on each vignette in turn, before the next one is introduced. Interaction will be encouraged, with an explicit aim to keep presentations brief, so that less than half of the time is occupied by panelists’ presentations.

Learning Objectives:

  2. Mutual and interactive learning: to exchange opinions with colleagues while examining typical clinical and teaching decisions that have to be faced in this area.
  3. To provide content that is relevant to these objectives, i.e. the objectives in 1 and 2 above.

Accreditation: This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This program has been reviewed and approved by UBC Division of Continuing Professional Development and Knowledge Translation.
