with Elderly
Nature of Event: Dinner and Panel Presentation/Discussion for Clinical and Academic Faculty Members of the Psychotherapy Program and the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry as well as Residents in the UBC Department of Psychiatry. Time & Place of Event:
Moderator: Dr. Rene Weideman Panelists: Special Guest Dr. Joel Sadavoy, Dr. Martha Donnelly and Dr. Caroline Gosselin Description of Panel Presentation / Discussion: Panelists will receive, in advance, written descriptions of vignettes dealing with psychiatric practice and elderly patients. Copies of these vignettes will be distributed during the dinner. The moderator will invite panelists to comment on how the situations could be conceptualized and managed. The audience will be involved early and throughout, as the moderator will ask for questions and comments on each vignette in turn, before the next one is introduced. Interaction will be encouraged, with an explicit aim to keep presentations brief, so that less than half of the time is occupied by panelists’ presentations. Learning Objectives:
